Latisse

LATISSE® is used to treat hypotrichosis of the eyelashes by increasing their growth including length, thickness and darkness.

Great eyelashes don’t just happen overnight. That’s why it’s important to note that LATISSE® solution works gradually and remarkably — with full results at week 16. Once you begin, you must continue applying the topical solution each night and follow the directions for best results. If you stop using LATISSE® at any time, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months.

Set your sights on growth

As the treatment progresses, you’ll first begin to see changes in length. Then, gradually, you’ll notice more thickness and darkness in your lashes. If you’re satisfied with your results by week 8, don’t stop there. Stick with the treatment. After week 16, you’ll see the full effect of LATISSE® solution — and so will others. After that, you can talk to your doctor about ongoing use.

Clinical Study Results

The LATISSE® clinical study was conducted at 16 sites across the country and included 278 participants of varying ages (22 to 78). The study tested LATISSE® solution and a vehicle (or placebo), which was LATISEE® without its active ingredient. Neither patients nor Clinical Investigators knew which group received what treatment. By week 16, the results showed that 78 percent of participants experienced a significant increase in overall eyelash prominence (including elements of length, fullness and darkness), compared to 18 percent for the vehicle group.

Highlights

SOME IMPORTANT DO’S AND DON’TS FOR LATISSE

  • Do not apply to the lower lid or in the eye and blot excess solution with a tissue.
  • Only use the sterile applicators supplied with LATISSE® to apply the product.
  • Don’t allow the tip of the bottle or applicator to touch fingers or any other unintended surface, as contamination by common bacteria is known to cause infections.
  • Remove contact lenses prior to applying LATISSE®. Contact lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes afterwards.
  • Remember, if you stop using LATISSE®, lashes will gradually return to their previous appearance.

Treatment

THINK ROUTINE

Try to incorporate LATISSE® into your nightly routine — for example, after you’ve washed your face and brushed your teeth.

KEEP IT HANDY

Store the LATISSE® bottle near your other skin care products or toothbrush, so you won’t forget to apply it each night.

HAVE PATIENCE

LATISSE® takes time to work. Only use it once a night. Use of LATISSE® more than once a day will not increase the growth of eyelashes more than use once a day.

START FRESH

LATISSE® is best applied to a clean surface. Before getting started, be sure to remove makeup and contacts.

FOLLOW THE RULES

Always use the sterile, disposable, FDA-approved applicator provided in the kit when applying LATISSE®. Do not try to apply with a cotton swab. Only apply LATISSE® to the base of upper lashes, not the lower lid.

DON’T PLAY CATCH UP

If you miss a dose one night, don’t apply more just to catch up. Simply apply LATISSE® the next evening and stay on schedule.

BEWARE OF GERMS

Don’t let the tip of the bottle or applicator contact your fingers or any other unintended surface, in order to avoid contamination by common bacteria known to cause infections.

STAY ON COURSE

As we mentioned earlier, you do need to exercise patience with LATISSE®. If you’re satisfied with your results by week 8, stick with the treatment. You’ll see the full effect of LATISSE® come into view at week 16. After that, you should talk to your doctor about ongoing use.
