Chemical peels improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough or peel off.

CHEMICAL PEELS ARE USED TO TREAT:

  • Some types of acne
  • Age spots.
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Dull or blotchy complexion.
  • Fine lines, especially under the eyes and around the mouth.
  • Freckles.
  • Melasma.
  • Rough-feeling skin.
  • Sun-damaged skin.

Chemical peels are not recommended for individuals with infections, active skin diseases, cut or broken skin, sunburns or active Herpes simplex 1 sores.

OTHER REASONS WHY PATIENTS MAY NOT BE CANDIDATES INCLUDE:

  • Nursing or pregnant.
  • Have taken Accutane in last six months.
  • Have psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis or rosacea.
  • Have used Retin-A, Renova, prescription skin care products, products that contain ascorbic acid, bleaching or skin-lightening agents or other acid-based products in the last 48 hours.
