Amplification Devices
Depending on the specific type and severity of hearing loss you have, your audiologist will determine the best amplification device for you. There is a wide variety of hearing aids available today, including devices that fit behind the ear or completely inside the ear canal.
Daily Wear
IN-THE-CANAL (ITC)
This type of amplification device consists of a shell (in which all parts are contained) that fills in the outer part of the ear canal.
BEHIND-THE-EAR (BTE)
For this type of device, all parts of the aid are contained in a small plastic case that is situated behind the ear. The case is connected to an earmold by a piece of clear tubing.
Extended Wear
LYRIC®
These in-the-ear hearing aids are a revolutionary hearing solution that provides the wearer with more freedom and less hassle than ever before. Completely invisible after placement, Lyric is inserted deep inside the ear canal about four millimeters from the eardrum by a specially trained Lyric® hearing professional.
Lyric® hearing aids produce optimal quality sound that is clear and natural, and no battery changes are required. Dependable and easy to use, Lyric® can be worn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for several months. The wearer can carry on with daily living activities – including showering, exercising, and sleeping – without any hassle or disruption of performance.
