Women ages 18-34

ANNUAL WELLNESS WOMAN EXAM

Beginning at age 21, women should see their OB/GYN every year for a pelvic exam, breast exam, and Pap smear to check for cervical cancer.

IMMUNIZATIONS

  • Human papillomavirus (HPV) once before age 26
  • Influenza vaccination  every year
  • Measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR)
  • Tetanus vaccination every 10 years beginning at age 19

Women ages 40-64

ANNUAL WELLNESS WOMAN EXAM

Women should see their OB/GYN every year for a pelvic exam, breast exam, and Pap smear to check for cervical cancer; as well as a mammogram to check for breast cancer.

COLORECTAL SCREENING

Beginning at age 45, women should have a colonoscopy every 10 years.

  • Influenza vaccination every year
  • Tetanus vaccination every 10 years

Women ages 65+

ANNUAL WELLNESS WOMAN EXAM

Women should see their OB/GYN every year for a pelvic exam, breast exam, and mammogram to check for breast cancer. After age 65, Pap smears are performed based upon a woman’s history and risk.

COLORECTAL SCREENING

Women should have a colonoscopy every 10 years.

THYROID-STIMULATING HORMONE EXAM

To ensure the thyroid is working correctly, women should have this test every five years.

OSTEOPOROSIS SCREENING

All women should have a bone density test (DEXA scan) once every two years beginning at age 65.

  • Pneumonia vaccination
  • Shingles vaccination
  • Tetanus vaccination every 10 years
