What to Expect

FIRST VISIT

The first time you come to our office, your physical therapist will review your medical history and do a physical evaluation. Depending on the diagnosis or symptoms, the therapist may evaluate flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, posture, and/or heart rate and respiration. The therapist may look at how the patient walks or gets up from lying down, along with how the body is used and positioned as activities are performed. The therapist will work with the patient to decide on goals for physical therapy and begin planning treatment. You should expect for the first appointment to last 60-90 minutes.

Additionally, you can expect any financial questions to be answered during your first visit. You will meet with a personalized insurance consultant who can cover all insurance and out-of-pocket costs.

PHYSICIAN COMMUNICATION

Communication with your referring physician is an integral part of your care to ensure consistent quality care as changes and progression occur.

ATTENDANCE AND COMPLIANCE

A successful rehabilitation experience requires your active participation. Attending your therapy appointments is one of the best things you can do to ensure a speedy recovery. Your physician or therapist determines the number of visits that will be appropriate for your injury or diagnosis. Typically, you should expect to be in the office for 60 minutes for follow-up visits. If you are unable to make an appointment, please give us a call 24 hours prior to your appointment.
