Hip Replacement
Osteoarthritis of the hip, the most common type of arthritis affecting this joint, is usually a byproduct of the aging process. Rheumatoid arthritis and post-traumatic arthritis can also affect the hip joint.
Regardless of the type of arthritis a patient exhibits, the end result is that the hip joint becomes worn which creates inflammation, pain, and lack of mobility. Once medication and non-operative therapies have been exhausted, patients may want to explore replacement surgery for the affected hip.
