We accept most major insurance plans.

What is the difference between an Ophthalmologist and an Optometrist?

Both are trained to diagnose and treat many eye diseases. Ophthalmologists have additionally obtained a medical degree (MD) and can perform surgery.

Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

Referrals are not required for Ophthalmology under most insurance plans.  However, as of November 1, 2013, Wellcare cardholders must have a referral from their Primary Care Provider (PCP). 

How long does an examination last? 

A complete eye examination can take an hour or longer depending on what is found and what additional testing may be needed.
