Therapies & Techniques
ACTIVE RELEASE THERAPY
Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system/movement-based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.
FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREENING
The FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.
GRASTON TECHNIQUE
The Graston Technique is an evidence-based, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization method for identifying and breaking up scar tissue to improve blood flow, reduce pain and improve functioning. Graston is equally effective in restoring function for those with acute and chronic injuries and has been shown to produce positive outcomes in a wide array of conditions treated.
KINESIO TAPING
Kinesio taping is used to either inhibit or facilitate muscles to allow for proper functioning, improved range of motion, improved circulation and a faster healing process. Kinesio taping is also used to re-educate the neuromuscular system, optimize performance, prevent injury and decrease pain.
NON-SURGICAL DISC DECOMPRESSION
Traction is used to decrease radicular pain, relieve nerve root/intra-disc pressure, stretch constricted tissue, and improve blood flow.
NEUROMUSCULAR MEDICAL MASSAGE & MANUAL THERAPIES
Massage, myofascial release, trigger point release, and manual therapies are used to improve circulation, break down scar tissue adhesions, promote the healing process, enhance joint/muscle function, and eliminate pain.
SPINAL AND JOINT MANIPULATION
Manipulation is used to restore proper motion in joints to help reduce pain. We use both manual and instrumentation techniques.
THERAPEUTIC CORRECTIVE EXERCISES
We use specific exercises and stretches designed to correct imbalances or misuse of muscles and connecting tissue. These exercises can be done at home to help resolve spinal issues and strengthen the body overall to address patients’ unique problems.
