HarbinCONNECT Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS A HARBINCONNECT VIRTUAL VISIT?

HarbinCONNECT is a convenient option for a face-to-face video appointment or telephone visit with a board-certified physician or advanced practice provider through your phone, smartphone, tablet or computer. You can receive a diagnosis, treatment, follow up and prescriptions for minor ailments.

WHY SHOULD WE USE HARBINCONNECT VIRTUAL VISIT INSTEAD OF JUST COMING INTO THE OFFICE?

In light of the recent CDC recommendations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Harbin Clinic is taking necessary safety steps, including social distancing, to minimize the spread of this virus. Virtual visits provide patients a safe and convenient option to meet with your physician from the comfort and convenience of your home and receive care that meets the healthcare and insurance standards.

WHO QUALIFIES FOR A HARBINCONNECT VIRTUAL VISIT?

Most patients with non-threatening injuries and illnesses may qualify if your insurance company has approved telehealth as a service line. Your Harbin Clinic provider office can triage many conditions and determine if an office, Immediate Care or emergency room visit is warranted. Some insurance companies allow for new patient visits to be offered via telehealth technology. Most insurance companies will allow for recheck appointments and for post-surgery follow-up visits to be offered via telehealth. Check with your provider’s office to find out if you qualify.

WHO DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR A HARBINCONNECT VISIT?

Our schedulers can help you determine if you are a candidate for a HarbinCONNECT visit. Call your provider’s office to speak with one of our staff and we will happily answer your questions.

IS THERE A COST FOR DOING A HARBINCONNECT VIRTUAL VISIT?

All new patients and re-check visits will be charged the same way as if you were seen in clinic, including self-pay, billing insurance and charging the patient a co-pay for the visit. The co-pay amount is based on your insurance plan. Contact your provider’s office for more information.

WHAT SORTS OF HEALTH CONDITIONS CAN BE ADDRESSED DURING A HARBINCONNECT VISIT?

New patients can be seen in Immediate Care for an initial screening and treatment plan for non-threatening illnesses or injuries. In some cases, our physicians may determine that your injury or condition is significant and may recommend an in-office visit for further evaluation and additional diagnostics (x-ray, MRI, etc.).

Our physicians are also using HarbinCONNECT visits to provide our patients with further care of ongoing injuries or conditions. Surgical patients can be seen via HarbinCONNECT for routine follow-up. HarbinCONNECT Virtual Visit is NOT for evaluating or treating a life-threatening condition or emergencies; please call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest Emergency Room.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED FOR MY HARBINCONNECT VISIT?

You can use any mobile phone, tablet or computer with a camera, microphone and web browser. We recommend using a secured Wi-Fi connection as well. Our clinic utilizes several different web-based software platforms. Your scheduler will send you specific instructions for the platform they are using for your appointment.

CAN I GET MEDICATIONS PRESCRIBED DURING A HARBINCONNECT VISIT?

Yes. We will be able to fill most prescriptions via e-prescription sent directly to your chosen pharmacy.

WILL I BE SEEN BY A HARBIN CLINIC PROVIDER OR BY AN OUTSIDE GROUP OF PROVIDERS?

You will be seen and evaluated by your regular Harbin Clinic provider. We do not use physicians from outside our group.

WILL THESE ENCOUNTERS BE RECORDED AND SAVED?

No. The Virtual Visit video and audio WILL NOT be recorded or archived. Your care team will document the findings in your health record, just like a regular clinic visit.
