I brought my adult daughter in today with concerns of sudden weight loss, recent fainting, and possibly an underlying mental health condition. This was our first interaction with Takeya Fogle. From the moment she entered the room, I felt that we were in good hands. She showed empathy and concern; she asked a lot of questions to understand why we were there. She addressed my daughter (the patient) first, gathered information from her, then asked my husband and I why we accompanied our daughter to the appointment. She listened to our concerns as well, then continued working with my daughter. I love that she put the patient first but still involved the caregivers in the discussion. She provided holistic treatment recommendations, not just focusing on a single aspect of the visit or a single method of treatment. As we left the appointment, my daughter said “Can she always be my doctor? We were definitely vibing.” Takeya Fogle made us feel heard, cared for, and important.
