NP/PA in Urology

Seeking NP or PA to join our established provider team in Urology.

Requirements:

• Board Certified with active GA licensure (or eligible)
• Previous experience in Urology preferred; open to new graduates with a career focused interest in Urology

Schedule:

• Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm – OP clinic
• Friday, 8 am to 5 pm – IP rounds
• OP and IP schedule may fluctuate depending on needs of practice
• No weekend or call requirements

Scope of practice includes:

Out Patient:

• Conduct comprehensive and focused urologic assessments, including history, physical exams, and review of diagnostic results.
• Diagnose and manage common urologic conditions such as BPH, urinary incontinence, kidney stones, hematuria, UTIs, and erectile dysfunction.
• Perform in-office procedures (as credentialed), including:
• Catheter placements and changes (Foley, suprapubic)
• Uroflowmetry and bladder scans
• Cystoscopy and urodynamic testing (if trained)
• Provide pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with urologists, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.

Inpatient

• Perform daily rounds on urology inpatients, including post-operative and consult patients.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
• Manage acute urologic conditions such as urinary retention, hematuria, obstructive uropathy, and infections.
• Respond to inpatient and emergency department urology consults.
• Assist with inpatient procedures such as:
• Catheter placements and exchanges (Foley, suprapubic)
• Nephrostomy tube care
• Bladder irrigation and management of hematuria
