On Friday, June 21, Dr. J. Ryland Scott of Harbin Clinic General Surgery Rome and Bariatrics Rome was named the national recipient of the First Humanitarian-Physician Award at the HCA Healthcare Awards of Distinction. During the ceremony in Nashville, Dr. Scott was recognized for his excellent care both in his medical practice and within the community.

Walk with a Doc returns June 15th and will be led by Dr. Gregory Harris of Harbin Clinic Medical Oncology. The health benefits of walking are significant. A study led by American Cancer Society researchers shows that even low levels of walking may help people live longer and can lower the risks of certain forms of cancer, including breast cancer and colon cancer.
