Jeff McEver Finds Out If He’s Smarter than a Third Grader
Jeff McEver, a Physician Assistant with Harbin Clinic Urology, has been caring completely for his patients and community for years. This April, Jeff is giving back to Rome and Floyd County children by testing his knowledge against other community leaders and local third grade students. On Thursday, April 13, Jeff will compete in Are You Smarter than a 3rd Grader?, a fundraiser for the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth at the Rome City Auditorium at 6pm.
Established in 1989, the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth (RFCCCY) empowers children and youth to reach their full potential through collaboration, advocacy and visibility. RFCCCY partners with agencies and families to ensure that Floyd County children grow up to be productive citizens. Funds raised from this event will support the RFCCCY’s goal of improving school success by focusing on early childhood literacy and strengthening the family bond by emphasizing positive childhood experiences. Studies have shown that students who do not read proficiently by the third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school than proficient readers are.
