Harbin Clinic Orthopedic Surgeon to Moderate Berry College International Health Care Symposium
Dr. Brad Bushnell, Harbin Clinic orthopedic surgeon and president of the Georgia Orthopedic Society, is honored to host two prestigious orthopedic surgeons in Rome at the Berry College International Health Care Symposium. The informative event is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at Berry College’s Krannert Hall.
As guests of the Georgia Orthopedic Society, Pryzemysław Lubiatowski, MD, PhD, from Poland, and Oleksandr Strafun, MD, PhD, from Ukraine are featured speakers at the symposium and will tour Atrium Health Floyd, Harbin Clinic and Berry College during their stay. They will conclude their visit with an academic presentation at the Berry College International Health Care Symposium. Dr. Bushnell will moderate the conversation.
“We are thrilled to host these two accomplished surgeons,” said Dr. Bushnell. “Dr. Lubiatowski will provide insight into changes in medicine and life in Eastern Europe after the fall of communism. Dr. Strafun will share a powerful perspective of what it’s like to live and work in a war zone as a trauma surgeon. We hope attendees find the academic presentations informative and enlightening and their personal stories inspiring.”
Dr. Lubiatowski is the Medical Director of the Rehasport Clinic in Poznań, Poland, where he specializes in surgery of the upper extremity. He is also the head of the Traumatology and Sports Biomechanics Laboratory at Poznań University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Strafun is a Senior Researcher in the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) of Ukraine, where he specializes in Microsurgery and Reconstructive Surgery. Following their visit to Rome, the surgeons will also speak at Emory University and at the Georgia Orthopedic Society Annual Meeting in Sea Island, GA.
The Georgia Orthopedic Society’s mission is to help Georgia orthopedic surgeons provide quality care and lead rewarding professional lives. They accomplish this through educational programs on clinical and practice management topics, conducting advocacy efforts on behalf of orthopedic surgeons and patients, and providing opportunities to foster personal and professional relations among orthopedic surgeons. As president of the organization, Dr. Bushnell stresses the importance of promoting orthopedic surgery advancements and insights to the public. He hopes that Berry College students, faculty and regional health care professionals see the symposium as a unique opportunity to hear new perspectives from international medical experts. The Berry College International Health Care Symposium is free and open to the public.
