Harbin Clinic Spreads Joy to Northwest Georgia Communities this Season

Harbin Clinic, Georgia’s largest privately-owned, multi-specialty physician group, continues to dedicate itself to its mission of building happier and healthier communities. This year is no different. Through partnerships with local organizations, Harbin Clinic and its employees have played an active role in helping and serving others during the holiday season.

“A key part of Harbin Clinic’s mission is to work collaboratively in support of building healthier, happier communities,” said Sarah Tuck, senior director of marketing and communications for Harbin Clinic. “Throughout the year, we have worked to bring our mission to life by partnering with incredible nonprofits that are dedicated to serving Northwest Georgia. During the holiday season, our physicians and staff went above and beyond to spread joy throughout our communities by participating in toy drives and raising money to provide over 10,000 meals to local families in need.”

Harbin Clinic employees engaged in the anti-hunger initiative by participating in a holiday t-shirt fundraiser. All of the proceeds were distributed to local organizations dedicated to fighting food insecurity throughout Floyd (Hope’s House Day Shelter and Resource Center), Bartow (Red Door Food Pantry), Gordon (Voluntary Action Center), and Polk (Cedartown United Fund) counties. As a result of the financial donation, the non-profits reported being able to provide over 10,000 meals to families during the holiday season.

In addition, Harbin Clinic employees across all 21 locations participated in the annual Toys for Tots toy drive.

“We are blown away by the generosity shown by our Harbin Clinic physicians and staff not just during the holidays but throughout the year,” said Tuck. “As an organization, Harbin Clinic’s mission is to care completely for the health and wellness of those living in Northwest Georgia. This includes working with community partners to address challenges like food insecurity, promoting the importance of critical health screenings and supporting programs that provide affordable, heart-healthy activities for our children and youth.”

Spreading Joy Throughout the Year

At both the corporate level and through the impacts made by physicians and staff, Harbin Clinic is well-known for being an active supporter throughout Northwest Georgia. Here are a few highlights of 2021 programs and initiatives.

  • During October, Harbin Clinic provided dedicated resources to raise awareness and funds to drive breast cancer screenings. The organization serves as a long-standing partner and supporter of the Northwest Georgia Cancer Coalition, and the two organizations worked together to amplify community messaging about the importance of early detection. Harbin Clinic employees participated in a “Pink Out” event throughout all locations and provided a financial donation which allowed for a 20% increase in the number of eligible women able to receive mammograms at no cost through the NWGCC scholarship program.
  • For the second year in a row, Harbin Clinic’s Get Pump’d for Kids campaign raised funds for local foster care systems that focus on providing essential resources to families and children. Proceeds were distributed to Polk County Family Connection, Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth, The Bartow Collaborative, and the Gordon County Child Advocacy Center.
  • Harbin Clinic and the YMCA of Rome and Floyd County’s Team Up for Health initiative focuses on improving the health and well-being of children and youth in the community through collaboration. As a key part of the partnership, Harbin Clinic sponsors the YMCA’s team-based soccer and basketball programs serving children from pre-school to high school. This year, the two organizations worked with Rome Mural Colab on designing a community-focused and inclusive mural for the basketball gymnasium.
