Did you know that the average pair of tennis shoes will last for 500 miles worth of walking? Put your sneakers to the test at the August edition of Harbin Clinic’s Walk with a Doc.
On 9 a.m. on August 18, join Harbin Clinic Cardiologist Dr. Himanshu Patel and ENT Dr. Brandon Miller at Bridgepoint Plaza for a quick health chat followed by a two-mile walk along Kingfisher Trail. Walkers tall and small will enjoy this opportunity to exercise and socialize.
“At Walk with a Doc, I’m able to get to know my patients and neighbors outside of the office,” says Dr. Patel. “I think the program is a great way to inspire health and wellness in my community.”
Americans are moving less than ever before. Research has shown that a sedentary lifestyle increases the risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and more. You can work in some extra steps each day by taking the stairs, parking at the back of the lot and standing when you would normally sit.
