Medications to Stop Before Procedure

MEDICATIONS THAT NEED TO BE STOPPED 7 DAYS PRIOR TO PROCEDURE INCLUDE

Coumadin (Warfarin)

If you are taking Coumadin (Warfarin) we will need blood work 1 ½ hours prior to your procedure. Please contact our office @ 762-235-3550 for your instructions.

  • No infection
  • No fever
  • No flu-like symptoms (cough, body aches)
Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS)

Diclofenac Potassium (Cataflam); Diclofenac  Sodium (Voltaren); Etodolac (Lodine); Indomethacin (Indocine); Ketoprofen (Orudis); Ketorolac tromethamine (Toradol); Meloxicam (Mobic); Nabumetone (Relafen); Naproxen (Naprosyn)/Aleve; Piroxicam (Feldene); Sulindac/Sundac (Clinoril); Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and Ibuprofen); Diflunisal (Dolobid); Oxaprozin (Daypro); Salsalate (Amigesic); Tolmetin (Tolectin)

 

Please notify our office @ 762-235-3550 if you are taking antibiotics for an active infection, have had a fever within the last week, or have any flu like symptoms (coughing, runny nose, body aches).

 

Note: You may continue to take maintenance medications such as blood pressure, heart, and diabetic medication or other prescribed pain medications that do not contain aspirin.
