Living Well Series Returns Oct. 2 With Chronic Disease Focus

Wrestling with a chronic disease can be frustrating, painful and exhausting.

But you can learn valuable coping skills to help you take back control at Living Well with Chronic Disease, a workshop series presented by Harbin Clinic. This free, six-week workshop is open to all and will cover a range of strategies and tools to help you manage your chronic illness and its related symptoms. The session begins on October 2 and ends November 6, 2018.

“Living Well will benefit anyone who is struggling with a chronic disease such as diabetes, depression, anxiety, heart failure, COPD, asthma and more,” says Rhonda Culp, a workshop organizer with Harbin Clinic’s Health Services department. “We’ll explore methods of dealing with fatigue, pain, anxiety, tension and difficult emotions.”

The workshop will also dive into techniques for stress management, problem solving, communication with your physician, how to cultivate a healthy diet and exercise regimen and lifestyle adaptations to help manage symptoms.

Living Well with Chronic Disease meets every Tuesday for six consecutive weeks at the Harbin Clinic Cancer Center, 255 West 5th St.

Class size is limited. To register for the class, contact Rhonda Culp at 762.235.1036 or Tina Waggoner at 762.235.1029, or email culp@harbinclinic.com or kmcfarland@harbinclinic.com.
