Harbin Clinic Cardiologist Dr. Himmy Patel says eating healthy and exercising along with seeing your primary care physician for yearly screenings are the keys to helping keep heart disease at bay.
“The biggest thing to help people fight heart disease is diet and exercise. You really need to watch what you eat, and you need to find a way to get regular exercise,” Dr. Patel said during a recent radio interview. “Beyond that, you need to go to your primary care physician and know your cholesterol numbers and get your blood pressure checked.”
Dr. Patel also discussed using a new technology for patients suffering from heart failure that can help improve their chances for living longer with heart disease.
