Harbin Clinic Unveils 2015 Faces of Hope

Families, friends, survivors, doctors, nurses and more gathered at the Tony E. Warren Cancer Center on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the unveiling of the 2015 Faces of Hope.

“When we were building the cancer center, we wanted it to be a place where people could come, feel hopeful and be inspired,” Janice Hopkins, Director of Operations at Harbin Clinic Cancer Center, said. “We felt like our patients were the best people to provide this inspiration.”

The seven new portraits captured by local Rome photographer Kelly Moore adorn the walls alongside a placard telling the inspiring story of each cancer survivor in their own words.

The seven new portraits feature Cindy Deberry, Laura Hicks, Dr. Alfonso Diaz, Earl Wilkerson, Terry D. Langford, Aletha Adams and Wendell Hicks.

“This isn’t just about the photos. It’s about each of these patients’ stories,” Hopkins said. “We want families and patients to be able to come to the cancer center and see and read these great stories. We want them to feel inspired and know they have come to the right place.”
