Harbin Clinic Nephrology to Open Practice in Acworth, Expand Footprint in Community

Just months after opening a new cardiology office in Acworth, Harbin Clinic Nephrology has announced the expansion of its practice into the area. Nephrologist Dr. M. Rashid Ishaque will begin seeing patients on Wednesday, October 8 at the new office located at 4450 Calibre Crossing NW.

“As Acworth has continued to grow, so has the need for better access to quality healthcare from both a primary care and medical specialty perspective,” said Harbin Clinic President and CEO Ken Davis, MD. “Having just recently opened a thriving cardiology practice in the area, Harbin Clinic understands the unique health needs of the Acworth community and looks forward to delivering exceptional nephrology care close to home for residents.”

Nephrology is the care, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the kidneys, including renal disease. Dr. Ishaque is specially trained to diagnose and treat all aspects of renal disease including acute renal failure in adults, inherited and acquired kidney problems, hypertension, management of body fluid, and electrolyte disorders.

Dr. Ishaque earned his doctorate of medicine degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and completed his internship and residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana, Illinois. He then returned to the Emory University School of Medicine to complete a renal fellowship. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and also the American Board of Internal Medicine for Nephrology. Additionally, he serves as Clinical Assistant Professor for Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University and is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation.
