Harbin Clinic has opened a cardiology office in the Acworth community. The office, located in suite 1200 of the Governor’s Pavillion at 4450 Calibre Crossing NW, opened on April 18 and offers the latest innovations in cardiac care and clinical therapies.
Harbin Clinic Interventional Cardiologist Maxwell A. Prempeh, MD, FACC, is the clinic’s lead physician for the Acworth office. Dr. Prempeh, board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology, specializes in using state-of-the-art tests and minimally invasive procedures to successfully diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease.
“Acworth is growing, and the community deserves the best medical care right at home. This new specialty, led by Dr. Prempeh, will allow patients to receive care from a top-notch physician and medical group without having to drive to Atlanta,” said Harbin President and CEO Ken Davis, MD.
Dr. Prempeh joined Harbin Clinic in 2010, with the opening of the cardiology office in Cartersville. In January of 2011, he performed the first cardiac intervention in Bartow County at Cartersville Medical Center. During the procedure, a stent was placed in a blood vessel to help restore normal blood flow to the heart and possibly prevent a future heart attack. Dr. Prempeh received his medical degree from Duke University, where he also served his internal medicine residency. He completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Harbin Clinic Cardiology is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. For consultation requests and questions regarding the department, call 470-490-6670.
