Harbin Clinic has named Andrew Goodwin Chief Information Officer (CIO). In his new role, Goodwin will be responsible for leading and managing clinic-wide information systems and all information technology functions, including overseeing Harbin Clinic’s secure IT infrastructure for clinical data.
“Information technology plays a critical role in the delivery of healthcare today, so it is important to have an IT leader at the helm who is adept at leveraging the latest technological advances,” said Harbin Clinic President and CEO Dr. Ken Davis. “With his strong background in healthcare IT and outstanding leadership credentials, Andy Goodwin is the ideal person to help ensure that Harbin Clinic stays on the cutting edge so we can better serve our patients in an exciting new era of medicine. Prior to joining Harbin Clinic, Goodwin served in various top leadership positions throughout his career, most recently as CIO at the Georgia Hospital Association in Marietta, GA. Before that, he was CIO at University General Hospital System in Houston and a senior healthcare IT consultant at Siemens Medical Solutions in Salt Lake City.
Goodwin earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of Maine at Farmington and a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Maine at Orono. Additionally, he holds an associate degree in Forest Management from the University of Maine. He is currently a member of the College of Information Management Executives (CHIME).
