Dr. J. Ryland Scott Receives Frist Humanitarian-Physician Award

On Friday, June 21, Dr. J. Ryland Scott of Harbin Clinic General Surgery Rome and Bariatrics Rome was named the national recipient of the Frist Humanitarian-Physician Award at the HCA Healthcare Awards of Distinction. During the ceremony in Nashville, Dr. Scott was recognized for his excellent care both in his medical practice and within the community. This prestigious awards ceremony is hosted by HCA Healthcare, the parent company of Redmond Regional Medical Center

Dr. Scott’s unending dedication to caring completely for the community led him to receive this distinction, as he works hard to provide the best care options for all of his patients. He strives to help patients overcome their health boundaries through the path that is best for them; he creates comprehensive plans to help each patient reach their goals.

Not only does he provide care in the office, but he and his wife Jennifer Scott engage with the community by partnering with Restoration Rome, a non-profit serving foster care children in Floyd County. The couple helped foster children through an 18-month commitment, and they are now adopted by loving families of their own.

Additionally, Dr. Scott has gone on various medical mission trips with his family, serving in Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.

2019 has been a banner year for Dr. Scott, as he and Dr. Peter Adams were recognized earlier this year for their bariatric care.
