Harbin Clinic welcomes psychologist Candice Claiborne, Ph.D., to Harbin Clinic Psychology located at 701 Broad Street in Rome. Dr. Claiborne joins the practice of psychologists Randell Elkins, Ph.D. and Frank Harbin, Ph.D.
Dr. Claiborne is a California native who completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in Santa Barbara, CA. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, LA. As a graduate of one of the nation’s few combined psychology doctoral programs accredited by the American Psychological Association, she brings a breadth of knowledge and clinical expertise to work with children and adults experiencing a vast array of mental health problems.
While in training, Dr. Claiborne was named a University of California, Santa Barbara Graduate Fellow and received the 2012-2013 Donald Atkinson Diversity Fellowship. She is a member of the Georgia Psychological Association, American Psychological Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Dr. Claiborne specializes in culturally sensitive psychological testing and short-term psychotherapy for anxiety and depressive disorders. She also finds it rewarding to work with children and adolescents exhibiting disruptive moods and uncontrolled behaviors.
