With multiple locations and a comprehensive heart health program, Harbin Clinic cares completely for your thumping heart and flowing veins so you don't skip a beat.
February is National Heart Month, and Harbin Clinic’s cardiovascular providers are ready to utilize their 450 years of collective experience to serve Northwest Georgians in our offices and, when necessary, at four hospitals including Redmond Regional Medical Center, Floyd Medical Center, Cartersville Medical Center and Gordon Hospital.
Harbin Clinic has a history of caring completely for everyone in the 13 counties of Northwest Georgia. In fact, Harbin established the first comprehensive cardiovascular program in the region. Today, our physicians and their teams continue to care completely.
Heart disease and heart-related illnesses are a leading cause of death in the United States. According to the American Heart Association, nearly 647,000 people in the U.S. die from heart disease each year, that is one in every four deaths.
“Our Harbin Clinic providers are experts at heart health care,” Harbin Clinic Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ed McBride says. “Harbin Clinic wants you and your entire family to have a healthy heart and vascular system now and for years to come.”
The heart and circulatory system make up the cardiovascular system. The heart works as the pump pushing blood to organs, tissues and cells. Blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to every cell while removing carbon dioxide and waste products. Blood travels from the heart to the rest of the body through a network of arteries, arterioles and capillaries.
Harbin Clinic offers heart and vascular services including:
Harbin Clinic’s cardiologists and Advanced Practice Providers specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases of the heart, blood vessels and circulatory system through medical management, multiple diagnostic modalities including echocardiogram, nuclear stress testing, coronary interventions and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). The diseases treated include coronary artery disease, heart rhythm problems and heart failure.
Harbin Clinic’s vascular surgeons provide comprehensive services for all types of peripheral vascular disorders, including catheter-based intervention as well as traditional surgical treatment for aneurysms and obstructive arterial disease.
Harbin Clinic vascular diagnostic labs provide a broad range of non-invasive vascular diagnostic services, utilizing ultrasound imaging and physiologic testing to evaluate blood flow and locate areas of vascular disease.
Harbin Clinic is home to Dr. Billy Chacko, the first vascular medicine specialist in Georgia. He offers comprehensive care for diseases of the vascular system and focuses on the non-invasive diagnosis and treatment of all problems involving the circulatory system outside of the heart.
“No one plans to have a heart attack or to develop heart disease. By assessing your risks and knowing your family history, our heart health team can help reduce the chance of you having a heart attack or stroke,” Harbin Clinic Cardiologist Michael Ware says.
Northwest Georgia residents don’t have to travel far to get top-notch heart and vascular care. Harbin Clinic offers cardiology care in Rome, Cartersville, Calhoun and vascular care in both Rome and Cartersville.
Throughout the month of February, Harbin Clinic will highlight interesting heart and circulatory facts and heart health tips on social media stories and our website, along with articles on how to treat and prevent common heart and vascular problems.
