Harbin Clinic Vein Center National Ambulatory Surgery Accreditation Renewed

Harbin Clinic Vein Center national ambulatory surgery accreditation has been renewed by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), it was announced by the Association. The Harbin Clinic Vein Center was first accredited by AAAASF in 2007.

The Harbin Clinic Vein Center is the only vein center in Georgia that has achieved AAAASF accreditation. The accreditation demonstrates that Harbin Clinic Vein Center patients receive the highest national standards for ambulatory surgical treatment.

“We have made a commitment to maintain safety and quality in our facility,” said John S. Kirkland, Ph.D., M.D., FACS, and Medical Director of the Harbin Clinic Vein Center. “Meeting this gold standard, as demonstrated by our AAAASF accreditation, elevates the patient safety awareness of every member of the staff and improves the quality of care.” The Harbin Clinic Vein Center treats vein-related clinical and cosmetic problems.

Services at the Harbin Clinic Vein Center are provided by board certified vascular surgeons skilled and experienced in providing the latest state-of-the-art vein therapies.

“We are committed to serving the needs of patients with vein disorders in a professional, convenient, and cost-effective way,” Dr. Kirkland said. “Each patient is unique and receives an individualized, comprehensive treatment plan based on the latest advancement in vein diagnosis and treatment.”

To earn AAAASF accreditation, ambulatory surgery centers must meet stringent national standards in the following categories: general environment, general safety, blood and medication, medical records, quality assessment/improvement, personnel, governance, operating room, recovery room, and anesthesia.

AAASF was established in 1980 to develop an accreditation program to standardize and improve the quality of medical and surgical care in US ambulatory surgery facilities while assuring the public of high standards for patient care and safety in an accredited facility. Today more than 1,100 outpatient surgery facilities are accredited by AAAASF, the largest not-for-profit accrediting organization in the United States.
