Harbin Clinic will play host to the fifth Community Wellness Expo on Saturday, February 20 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The free event will be held at 1825 Martha Berry Boulevard in Rome and is open to men and women over the age of 18.
Services will include height, weight, blood pressure and pulse checks, along with appropriate lab work as determined by age, medical history and gender.
“The purpose of the Community Wellness Expo is to provide access to quality medical care for members of the community, who may not have insurance or see a healthcare provider regularly,” Dr. Himanshu Patel, Chairman of the Harbin Clinic Community Expo Committee, says. “Harbin Clinic cares completely for the community and is proud to be an integral part of helping to make Northwest Georgia healthier through important initiatives like this.”
The expo is a two-day process. Participants must not have anything to eat or drink after midnight in order to have blood drawn. However, daily medications may be taken with water. Snacks will be provided for participants after their lab work is complete, and flu shots will also be available. Fasting is only required the first weekend.
On Saturday, February 27, participants will return at an appointed time to review lab work and other test results with a Harbin Clinic provider. Participants will also be able to visit health education booths that will be set up throughout the clinic.
