Colossal Colon Invades Harbin Clinic March 12

Harbin Clinic has learned that the Colossal Colon, “Coco,” will invade the 1825 Martha Berry Hwy building on Wednesday, March 12 from 9 am – 4 pm to celebrate National Colon Cancer Awareness Month.  Kids can crawl through the giant, 40-foot long and 4-foot high colon, while adults can look through windows to explore this vital organ and learn more about colon diseases and conditions.  The Harbin Clinic Gastroenterology team will be on hand to answer questions and talk up colonoscopy for all adults 50 and older.

Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon or rectum) is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Every year, about 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and more than 50,000 people die from it.  It is vital that adults aged 50 and older be screened for colorectal cancer because more than 90% of cases occur in this age group.
